We work with cotton panels that have been overdyed before being joined into garments, each one embroidered in the kantha tradition. The stitching is done by hand in a simple running line, often carried from memory rather than a marked pattern. It binds the layers with strength while leaving a raised surface that changes how the cloth catches the light, bringing dimension to the fabric as it is worn.
